Warhammer World Open Day Round Up

What a weekend with the Warhammer open day. There is the new farsight and snikrot models. Age of sigmar got the updated blades of khorne and hedonites of slaanesh battle tomes with their respective vanguard boxes.

The Tau leader is finally coming in plastic as part of the fourth arks of omen book. He will also be included in the Tau boarding patrol too, this box will have 3 crisis battle suits, 10 breachers or fire warriors and of course far sight. The crisis battle suits and fire warriors are just over the price of the boarding patrol. This makes the Tau box the worse value boarding patrol for the arks of omen as only the named character is free. I would wait for far sight get his own release then purcahase with the combat patrol for a much better army and saving. The farsight model is pretty cool model, with him standing on a tactical bonsai.

Snikrot the sneakiest of all orks has returned in plastic as well. He too is coming in the ork boarding patrol box. The ork box is far superior in content and value for money than the tau box. In the ork box you get. 5 Flash Gitz, 10 Beast Snagga Boyz, and 10 Kommandos. You are getting a free unit before Snikrot is even counted towards the value. Even though this box is good value, I wouldn’t worry to much if you don’t get it as snikrot will be available soon enough. Snikrot is a great looking model, and you can have him wearing the goggles or not, the knives the teeth of mork look great. This could be the model that finally pushes to an ork army.

So not bad for forty kay’s xenos lovers. Over at Age of sigmar chaos got love. The vanguard boxes are really good for the new players; as well as those wishing to increase their previous forces. In the blades of khorne you get 10 Bloodreavers, 10 Blood Warriors, three Mighty Skullcrushers, and a sermon-spitting Slaughterpriest. A nice selection of models and plenty to keep you busy for a while too. Slaanesh you get Shardspeaker of Slaanesh, three Slaangor Fiendbloods, 10 Blissbarb Archers and their Homonculus companion, and five Slickblade Seekers which can be built as Blissbarb Seekers. A nice selection and both boxes have a lot of choice too. I would have been happier if they made a new valkia for blades of khorne. It is what it is and she be coming soon enough. Both armies of these chaos gods also get new models, the realmgore ritualist for khorne and the lord of hubris for slaanesh. The khornate model is the best one out of the two in my opinion.
