The Warhammer 40,000 adepticon previews are out and they are really good for the most part.

The lion is back, the primarch of the dark angels has awoken. Getting his own arks of omen book. Is there even a point to get that final book? As the rules will be obsolete in a couple of months. The Lion is a fantastic model, remove the watchers and he should useable in both horus heresy and 40. The lion helm, is one of the head options and is very similar to the forge world model. Wielding the sword of fealty and the shield of the emperor. The lion model looks really good. It is a kinetic model, with lots of movement. Great detail, of the lion’s personal heraldry.
Beastmen are back in 40k with the new kill team box, where they are facing off against the leagues of votann in kill team Gallowfall. Its cool to see new beastmen models for 40k. There is also new votann models. This is just another kill team box, the beastman models look like 40k versions of their age of sigmar counterparts. They look good, hopefully they can be used as a neutral force. Not just for chaos. The leagues of votann have jump packs now.

Horus heresy is getting it’s first expansion with the siege of Cthonoia, a full new book starting a new series of campaign books. While the siege of Cthonia, will be imperial fists vs sons of horus. It does look like it will include rules and lore for the members of the traitor legions that remained loyal. Seeing the imperial fists have been reinforced by a warband of the lost legions, including a cadre of thousand sons. With 100 pages of lore, and new missions.
The newest edition of Warhammer 40k will be out in summer, again the new arks of omen book becoming obsolete in only a few month. Is coming with a lot of new changes. First all the datasheets will be free to download. Something I have personally been saying that they should do, along the likes of firefight from mantic, and wild west exodus from warcradle. Good to see games workshop catching up. Not just the datasheets but the army rules too, which will be on a single page. Does this mean codices are going the way of the dodo? No, they will be released to replace the datasheets.
The strength statistic for models has gone, kind of. It now looks like that individual strength for melee is tied to the weapons rules on the datasheets. The datasheets do seem very clear and easy to use.
With the new edition comes new starting armies, tyranids and space marines with brand new first born with terminators. Not much to sayon that as we have only seen two units. The best thing is the price cut kind of again, to start playing tenth you will need the free rules, datasheets, and a combat patrol box. The problem with this is not all combat patrol boxes are born equal. Games workshop have a whole new play mode, dedicated to using these boxes. In all tenth does look to be better, even more cost effective. We’ll have to wait and see.
