Top 5 Single Model units

Top 5 single character units

You know those units, usually elites that only require one miniature. They tend to look really cool; rules wise are not to shabby either. From apothecaries to ancients bearing their faction’s banner. You can usually take more than one as well. Without mentioning named characters or hq and only one from each faction here are my top five single character units.

Number 5.

Chaos starts our list with the master of executions, a nice looking model. With his giant axe and executor’s hood. A nice addition to any traitor force, with a strength 7 attack and -3 armour penetration. Would be formidable in its own right, now add he can do up to 12 wounds with his 6 attacks and 2 damage. Even the mightiest monsters are going to worry facing him in melee. A cool looking model for your chaos space marines,

Number 4.

The lictor, a name that spreads fear throughout the imperium. This is an old model but it still looks great. These invisible hunters stalk their prey and infiltrate the most impenetrable fortesses. One during the tyrranid attack on baal made it’s way all the way into the most inner sanctum. The same melee stats as the master of executions. If in cover cannot be targeted if more than a foot away by ranged weapons, add in it’s invulnerable save, and the minus to hit the lictor penalty. Gives many reasons why it is a feared opponent.

Number 3

The Aeldari, the Harlequins in particular. The harlequins have a couple to choose from. I have to give it to the death jester. It’s the spooky looking one that brings in the heavy artillery, with his shrieker cannon. A cannon with a 30 inch range, assault 3 and 2 damage is impressive for your anti infantry. With ap -2 it’s not just light infantry either, bringing that to -4 ap for every 6 you roll on your wound roll. Did I mention killing one model counts as two for the opponent’s morale. As for look out sir, that’s going to do nothing as the skull faced aeldari can choose to ignore it too.

Number 2

The vindicare assassin, this is my favourite assassin. The supreme assassin of the imperium, has two models. The normal one which looks incredible with the sniper hiding behind a pillar and the Warhammer + one. With him perched in a statues head. He looks sneaky, the futuristic spy mask. His rules aren’t to shabby, by causing a mortal wound and allowing to roll again. Until the model is dead or you fail your roll. Which means in theory he could take out the most powerful model in his shooting phase. Unlikely but possible.

Number 1

The plague surgeon. Another wonderful model, it is here because it’s a just a great looking model. I also find it humorous that the only apothecary that the traitors have is in the death guard. He has his rusty bone saw and corrupted narthecarium. He really is a twisted parody of his loyal counterpart. He can replenish wounds like any other apothecary by rolling a 6. But any deathguard infantry within 3 inches at the end of the movement phase can heal d3 wounds once per turn. While he has the name of Nauseous Rotbone he has never had singular rules and is the plague surgeon.
