Reading the new white dwarf with world eater lists has had me thing about just dedicating m black legion to khorne and repainting them entirely.
So how would I go about
Making a world eater army starting with the combat patrol box? So the chaos space marine combat patrol box will be out to preorder this week end and with the latest white dwarf having new rules for everyones favourite devoted to the blood god khorne legion. The world eaters. It is a good time to start getting an army ready for when the codex drops.
What do you get in the combat patrol, you get the helbrute, ten chaos space marines, five havocs, and the dark apostle. A good box as it covers most legions already. First things I would do is totally kit out the chaos space marines in close combat gear. Chainswords and bold pistols, but give two plasma pistols too, and aso give one an icon to boost the berzerkers armour penetration. So your first squad will have plus one strength because of the mark of khorne, plus one armour penetration for the icon and if they charged, were charged or heroic intervention an extra attack.
For the dark apostle cut of one of his hands and give him the axe that is in the chaos space marine sprue. Making him a chaos champion of khorne over a dark apostle, use the axe as the berzerker glaive, giving him a plus 2 on top of the plus one a total strength of eight, get him to join the berzerker unit, and a plus two armour penetration too.
Before assembling the havocs I would get some raptors, and instead of arming the havocs with their heavy weapons, make them chosen with lightning claws, and use the raptor box, warp talon lightning claws on them, and and kit the raptors out in close combat weapons too. Finally get two boxes of berzerkers. In each berzerker box you get twelve models. So this will leave you four for bits. I would use the four spare heads on the havocs that are now your favoured of khorne. If you get these altogeher I would give soemof teh spare chainaxes to the other choas space marines too.
With the helbrute you are going to need some heavy fire power, as well as his close combat. Personally I would use the multi melta as it just fits the synergy of these force, getting even more brutal the closer you are to the enemy.
As for a second hq, I would get kharn at 140 points, just keep everyone within four to six inches so they don't get killed by him but do get his buff of rerolling ones.
