The cost of living or as someone said last time hobbying crisis still abundant. It is the turn for chaos, so watch the space marine add spikes and there you're done.
ok ok as that is all you need for chaos, I'll focus on the death guard. Mortarion's sons and I have just read buried dagger. That book is amazing and has inspired me to make the 80. The loyalist death guard army for horus heresy. You are not here for horus heresy you are here for the gribbly, the grusome, the grim dark that is warhammer 40,000.
Saving money on death guard. The combat patrol box isn't great and you can do better chesper too. Not just one way way either there is a couple of ways to do it.
First use skaven plague monks as your pox walkers. Poxwalkers are £21 for 10, plague monks are £26 for 20 so straight away you are saving money. I was going to say age of sigmar zombies, but they are £35 for 20. Skaven are cheaper. £26 for the same value as £42, this saves you £16
With the skaven you get some cool extra bits you may need later.
Hq lord felthius cohort. This unit is £26, you will have to own load the data sheets for him and his blightlord terminators. It covers your hq and elite choices. If that doesn't fit right, you can easily kit bash the terminators into death shroud. clip the ranged weapons and make manreapers. They are just scythes, and two of the blight lords have big choppy weapons any way so use lord fethius as a death shroud. Make the final blight lord a lord virulence by adding a power fist.
So lord fethius cohort for £26 has become two units that would have cost you £60 together. A £34 saving.
This is where your multible choices come in.
You could go straight death guard at £32.50, this brings you in at just under £85, but we do have all those spare skaven parts.
Did you know skaven heads fit primaris marines?
I did.
see.

So get ten intercessors for £36, use the skaven heads and bits on seven to create your death guard. Then there is plenty of bits left to make a tally man too.
This £36 box now has made two units that would have cost you, £50.50. Using intercessors means the total price is £88, still less than the combat patrol box.
All in all a total saving £64.40, or £2 if compared to he combat patrol box.
