OLD ONE EYE

The tyranids have a few singular organisms. Organisms that aren’t repeated, why who knows? There is a certain carnifex that always comes to mind, when this subject comes up. That is old one eye, old one eye first appeared in third edition of the tyrranid codex. As a named character. This monstrous creature was first seen in front of hive fleet behemoth. When the tyranids attacked the world of caves that is calth. The imperial guard were nothing, compared to this monstrosity. Even the mighty leman russ battle tanks were batted away, like an annoying fly. Only the most powerful weapons, slowed this carnifex. To this day, it bears the scars of these weapons. The most prominent of these battle scars is his two-face cosplay. A shot so deep you can see the bone underneath. Who did it, no one knows. What we know is that it was a plasma pistol that caused the wound and fell the beast at the time, and gave it his name old one eye. This was the first time the monster had been stopped.

You may have noticed I said “first time.” If it was not for some idiot smugglers that found the tyranid’s corpse decades later frozen in a block of ice. Yes, the genius smugglers, didn’t even defrost the carnifex in the void. Chose to do it on the planet itself. Even though hive fleet behemoth was defeated, many of the lesser tyranid organisms, such as termagaunts and genestealers. Found a synaptic mind with old one eye. They were drawn to the large monster. It was not long before convoys, settlements, and other places of human residency were massacred.

It wasn’t long before the calth residents cries for help, were heard by the boys in blue. The ultramarines. A veteran of the first tyrannic war, sergeant Telion. Took up arms. Old one has been “killed” at least a dozen times, each time ended a rampage of destruction. What has happened to the monster, no one knows. Now he is used as a story to scare children into obedience, in between beatings probably. Rumours persist of sightings of old one eye being seen in other parts of the ultramarine empire.

It seems that this alpha carnifex is now present in hive fleet leviathan. Upon the planet of tartoros, during the attack on the cryptus system.
