New Boarding Patrols Price Breakdown

The new boarding patrol boxes prices are here. Are they as good as they seem, or are they lacking?

First up and the cheapest at £70 is the grey knights, you get castellan crowe, 10 man strike squad (which can be made into all the other non terminator squads), and a terminator squad.

A total value of £102.50, saving you £32.50. So, you get you hq free. Not a great value box getting just crowe free, with money off the terminators. For the same price two boxes of terminators will net you a hq with the brother captain, two elite squads an ancient (or apothecary) and paladin squad, and finally a terminator squad for your troops. The boarding patrol is good for beginning your grey knight army. It is a single purchase buy.

Next is the drukhari also £70 with 20 wyches, 5 incubi, and a succubus a total of £109.50. Saving you £39.50 which is a free box of wyches and over half price on the succubus. Straight away a better purchase with no named character. Meaning the box can bought multiple times and have all the contents used in a single army. It lacks the versatility of the grey knight box. Though you are getting more models and a better saving with the drukhari box.

Next up and more expensive at £80 this time is the drukhari brethren the Aeldari. In this box you get 20 voidscarred corsairs, 5 howling banshees, and jain zar. A total value of £140 saving you £60. What is it with games workshop always giving the aeldari the best value boxes. The start collecting one was great value, the combat patrol one is great, and now the boarding patrol. A whole unit free and Jain Zar for just over a fiver. I can see eBay being filled with Jain zar after this release. Not because scalpers, just for the saving this box is. Getting more than is always a free unit.

Necrons, the ancient foe of the Aeldari has theirs also at £80, in this box you get. 10 warriors, 10 lychguard, 3 ophidyan destroyers. A total value of £137.50 saving you £57.50. Not the best of savings and lacks the hq need for a normal 40k game, but you are getting the warriors free and a sizeable discount off a squad of lychguard too. With no hq this box can be used as a cost effective way to boost your necron army for 40k. If you are going to purchase this box to start your 40k army. Get with the Recruit box for the extra ten warriors and the £2.50 hq.

The tau and ork boxes are £80 and £85 respectively, I wont be doing these as without the prices of the named characters it would seem untruthful.
