Gatekeepers are full of crap

I believe, like many others in the hobby, sit in the middle. Don't really care about the politics, all I care about is, the models look good, the games are fun, and the books are entertaining. Anything else outside that is kind of meh.
It did get me thinking about this gatekeeper movement that is happening at the moment and how it is full of crap. Their argument they have to keep the lore pure and consistent, is absolutely fallacious. If at the least that games workshop can barely keep it consistent, which to be fair would be quite hard with the number of writers they have on board. Each with their own ideas, and concepts. So with a singular goal, but contradictions will happen.
To demonstrate their hypocrisy, I thought I would talk about three time that games workshop themselves broke the lore, on a more fundamental level than what is in between a space marine's legs.
First is the Tau, the whole race. Discovered during the reign of goge vandire, that goge vandire. The paranoid, xenophobic, meglomaniac that purged entire regiments of imperial guard, chapters of space marines, and planets because he maybe thought someone may not like him. Let an entire race go unmolested because of few warpstorms. Goge vandire would take whole armies across the galaxy just to take out a planet, because someone may have said something about him, that may be considered slightly less than flattering. But an entire new sentient race. Yeah that can get a pass. I don't think so, Goge Vandire would have risked entire legions of space marines to kill the tau. Yet here we are with this new race, with an empire of their own. Just in case that wasn't compelling enough to break established lore, the tau neighbours? On one side you have the ultramarines and their many, many successors, other side orks, and coming from behind an entire hive fleet. So the fact they are not in some museum. When they were still throwing rocks at each other. That neither the ultramarines or the orks have destroyed them to further their own empires. Breaks the narrative on at least two factions.
Next is the space wolves and armegeddon. Up until the fifth edition of warhammer 40,000 after the space wolves tried to save the citizens of armegeddon from the inquisition. Grimnar decided not to fight the inquisition, let alone kill a high ranking grand master of the grey knights. Why? Ulfrik talked grimnar out of it, saying it will be more bloody and the civillians deaths would mount greatly. So no blood was shed. Made sense too, there are three ordos of inquisition on Armegeddon, malleus, xenos, and of course hereticus. So going to war with one, would have created a rare, alliance of inquisitions. Which would not only led to the space wolves being declared traitors, again picking a fight with three ordos of inquisitions would have the most extreme of consequences. Chances are fenris would have been exterminatused. With the space wolf geneseed at the time, only viable on the people of fenris. The space wolves would have made themselves extinct. All because of hubris. Yet here we are today forgetting all that and having grimnar kill a grand master of the inquisition. Without consequences, not even a redemption crusade.
Finally the squats returning, alot of people are saying that there is nothing in the lore saying the squats suffered a mass extinction. Except there is, it is a pretty big one too. One so big that everyone can see it. The cicatrix maledictum. The great tear across the sky. This massive hole in space, covers the entirety of the squat empire. As in all of it. So now the squats have returned, how spaceships probably. So a race got destroyed, by a warp tear, think the aeldari fall with out the sexy murder fun time.
So there you go, next time a gatekeeper goes on how, what is basically an aesthetic choice is fundamentally breaking established lore you can bring up one of these point and ask why are they aren't angry and these lore shattering moments that are against narrative consistency than if a space marine has a taco or a hotdog
