FIVE KITS TO CONVERT INTO ATILLIAN ROUGH RIDERS

So the atillan rough riders are back, for the astra militarum with new models. Say you don't like these new models and you want a more unique rough rider unit for your hammer of the emperor army. Never fear here are five kits you can make into rough riders. I will be saying which regiments they would be good for too. This is not an exhaustive list, with plenty of Calvary in age of sigmar alone. You can really make your rough riders incredibly unique.

First is the sisters of thorn box, with the deer mounts. Fantastic sculpts and woiuld stand out from the equine standard. Some converting on the riders will be needed. I personally used drukhari bodies and helmets with escher arms to make mine back in 8th. Sisters of thorn come with lances, and as the rules state you decide either melta tip or frag on the attack. You do not need to really model an appropriate tip. They also come in five in a box for a full squad. Finally if you want males instead of female rough riders, there is male torsos too. They are naked male torsos, say they are tangar and belief will conquer bullets.

Lets go to 40k with the next lot and genestealer cults attalan riders, moving from horses to motorbikes. because they are so cool and rebelious. Being genestealer cults, they are highly compatible with astra militarum models. So head and arm swaps, luckily rough riders are equipped with lasguns, so you can put them on your models instead lances. Lances are not to hard to make. Long stick with a pointy end. There is only four in a box with an atv though, so two purchases for a full squad and kit out the atv as a sentinel to save yourself some money. Attalan are geat if you are doing chem dogs.

Back to age of sigmar, last time in this video. Cities of sigmar pistoliers or out riders. Being old empire models easy kit bash with the astra militarum models. Head and arm swap if needed, add you lasguns and lances and off you go. That is basically it. You can also use cadian torsos if you want a full cadian aesthetic. If you want the old word aesthetic, you can call them ventrillian.

Space marine scouts on bikes, if you are doing a more muscular regiment like catachan. Space marine scout bikes is the way to go. Change the torsos, arms and heads, give them lances, and you are good to go. With the seat being more centred, and the space above rear tire would be great for storing ger and everything else your junge fighter would need. The banners of these bikes would make great lances, cut the end off, add a catacha knife. Perfect for the role and aesthetic.

Finally adeptus mechanicus and their serbyrus riders. Robot horses what is not to love. With ad mech being combatible with astra militarum, this box again would not be a difficult conversion. Head and arm swaps if needed. If you use skitarii vanguard heads you will have a great rough rider unit of Indigan praefects. Unfortunately like the attalan riders, the space marine bikes, the ad mech do come in boxes of three. To counter that there is plenty of bits too.
