Fire Fight Second Edition Is Here and It's Amazing

I was sent this copy of fire fight by mantic. This is why I did the is it worth first with the full breakdown of price separately. Giving the opportunity to see an objective value, before the subjective review.

Let's go over the contents quickly for those who didn't watch the previous video. You get the rule book, force lists book, 40 marauders, 4 ripper suits, 20 enforcers, 5 peace keepers and 2 jet bikes. Firefight second edition is a very packed box.

The suggested assembly gives you 775 points of marauders and 785 points of enforcers.

The list of models on the back does not tell you the hq models included as they are in the getting started booklet inside. Though I would with the marauders, instead of losing out on using two models. Make a ripper warlord and the remain three as his squad mates, either two ripper maulers and one ripper rainmaker or vice versa. Rather than the commando warlord and two squad mates. With the choice of hqs for both factions hidden plain sight straight away tells you that this box is diverse.

The models themselves look very good, and well sculpted, really chunky feeling to them, the jet bikes alone have a real weight to them. Out of the 20 enforcers I have yet to make the same one twice. Giving the box a lot of diversity. The only trouble I had making the enforcers, were with the lasers, the left arms are not lettered so it took some guess work to, find out which arm went with which. Most of the time it was pretty obvious, there were a few that were a little trickier. As painting them went, it was not hard and a lot of fun, with no issue of paint separation, at all while painting.

I want to mention the getting started booklet. An item often over looked. Most part it is what you expect, simple breakdown of the rules for your first game, how to build the included, and of course the stat lines for said models. That last part I want to bring up, because out of a stroke of genius. They way they are printed, is so you can leave it open on the table, and here is no need to keep turning it, so you can see for your faction. Both factions a printed so both players can look at the same time while staying on their side of the table. Genius.

The rule book is well made and fairly simple to use, with a fair amount of lore too. The lore is really good and reminds me of the first part of fight club, where he talks about corporations naming planets, that's what the humans did in the warpath universe. Its great to read about how the warpath universe works, with motives of each faction. Forge fathers building the enforcers armour. The asterains wanting to be left alone and the marauders wanting to fight, but not the usual slow witted orc way either. The force list is what it is, all the rules for each faction and their unit, though you may need to download some rules if the nameless get their own army. As they are not included....yet.

Playing wise, fire fight is fun, and with you taking it in turns with each unit. The battles feel more frantic and forces yu to think on the fly, instead of waiting an entire turn to consider your strategies. Because that units you started with might not make the next activation.

The models, the lore, and the game firefight second edition box is the most fun I had on a tabletop with my clothes on. It is great for for new and veteran players. If you are looking to start a new game or a new force, I cannot suggest firefight highly enough. Mantic are showing their chops now, the wargaming table is getting larger can't wait to see what they do next.
