Echoes of Doom is not Skaven Friendly

So the Echoes of doom, the new battle box, for the age of sigmar, table-top game is priced at £115, ok this is not a bad deal. Two of the models pretty much make up most of the value on their own. The screaming bell is £42.50 and the tree lord is the same, you can make the screaming bell in to a plague furnace giving you are grey seer as well. Which is £16. So that's £101 for just a small part of the box. You also get half a box of stormvermin, 20 clan rats and the new assassin model. Odd getting only half a box. The sylvaneth you get so many new models. The gossamid archers, the new lady of vines, with the treelord as mentioned before and 3 kurnoth hunters. So you are pretty much saving on one of the armies well getting the other for free.

All is is well and good, but you can do better if you are willing to wait.

Both have start collecting boxes priced at half the price of the echoes of doom box. In the skaven there is a screaming bell or plague furnace, plague monks, and warp lightning cannon or plague claw. Add the price of storm vermin at £35. That is a total of £92.0. But if you want the clanrats too, it is a total £118.50. So £3.50 more you get a warp lightning cannon/plague claw and plague monks. A saving £46.50. I didn't mention the new assassin in the price. As the the other half of stormvermin covers his price estimate. At around £17.

In the sylvaneth box you get the treelord, 16 dryads, and branch wych, add in the kurnoth hunters this brings you to again £92.50 the gassamid and lady vines being new, is hard to guess I would assume at £54, the price of druanti and tree revenants. An extra £31.5. Which is not going to save you anything really. This will cover the dryads and the branchwych and only saving you £14.50.

If you are a skaven player, it really would be better value to pay the extra £3.50 and get the clanrats, a whole box of storm vermin, and the skaven start collecting box. If that is what you are wishing to start a skaven army. As for sylvatneth, the echoes of doom plus dryads and you are paying the same, if you got the start colecting and the new boxes.

Echoes of doom is great for sylvaneth, skaven its cheaper to do yourself.
